2025 Surrey Fiesta Extravaganza Posponed To 2026

Dear Valued Sponsors, Vendors, and Community Partners,

Warm greetings from the Filipino-Canadian Cultural Heritage Society.

It is with a heavy heart that we write to inform you of an important and heartfelt decision made by the Board of Directors of FCCHS. After deep reflection and careful evaluation, we have decided not to proceed with the 2025 Surrey Fiesta Extravaganza, which was originally scheduled for July 19–20, 2025 at the Surrey Civic Plaza.

This decision comes in the wake of the heartbreaking tragedy that occurred during the Lapu-Lapu celebration, a moment that deeply shook our community and left us mourning alongside the families and friends of those affected. In light of this sorrowful event, we believe it is only right to pause, reflect, and come together—not in celebration, but in remembrance, healing, and unity.

In place of the Fiesta, we are redirecting our full support and resources to a benefit event that will take place in June 2025 at Rogers Arena. This special gathering will honor the memories of those we have lost, while also serving as a testament to the resilience and solidarity of the Filipino-Canadian community. It will be led by our mother organization, the United Filipino-Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFCABC), and will bring together families, leaders, artists, and organizations across the region in a united front of compassion and hope.

We humbly ask you—our most valued partners—to join us in this important cause. Your continued support will not only uplift the families affected but will also send a powerful message: that in moments of sorrow, our community stands together, hand in hand, moving forward on the path of healing.

In heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support throughout the years, FCCHS will continue to display your company or organization’s logo on our website and social media platforms free of charge. Furthermore, if you wish to send us your promotional materials, we will be more than happy to help you promote your products and services through our online channels. This is part of our firm commitment to support, uplift, and patronize those who have stood by us and contributed to the success of our past events.

Let us turn our collective grief into a beacon of strength. Let us show the world the heart of the Filipino spirit—undaunted, compassionate, and united.

More details on the June 2025 Benefit Event will be shared with you in the coming weeks. We hope to walk this meaningful journey with you, and we would be honoured to have your support and presence.

With deepest gratitude and respect.
